HI! LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF!

👋 Hi, I'm Kyle, AKA HighGroundByNightfall - I started my journey as a content creator back in April of 2023. At the time I saw these adventures and the content I was creating as simply a way to push myself to get back into the outdoors & take charge of my health through overlanding & expedition travel across BC 🇨🇦 with my son Aiden.

Just like everyone, I had a few really hard years during the pandemic & felt like I had lost a big part of what made me happy; the outdoors! That same year, with little to no special knowledge, I set out to build myself an expedition vehicle that would allow me to go out into the deep backcountry of BC. I wanted to be completely off grid, yet connected as I explored more of the province I've lived in for amost 20 years now.

This vehicle, I called Nightfall. Highground is what I was seeking, via Nightfall. NYK!

As I began taking these "rally trips" with Aiden, I decided I would document the experiences & post them online for others who might also be feeling a similar kind of way in their life. As I was posting these adventures, more & more people started following along & within a few months, people started joining me organically. This led to me rethinking the potential of what this rally had the opportunity to become.

I've found that overlanding, 4x4 and rally adventure can feel very unwelcoming to newcomers & even seasoned joiners as well. People like to think it requires being in certain circles, having special gear, knowledge or expertise, but the truth is that like anything, it's quite easy to learn, if you have a community.

So I evolved the goal of H/N to help change this perspective. H/N has now grown into a small community of people who love to get outdoors in our 4x4s. It is a place where I invite "joiners" to come and "join the rally" either virtually or physically, as I embark on new trips regularly. All are welcome to experience this through the content I create.

Those who come and join me on trips, are supported with ensuring that they are prepared for adventure travel as they enhance their skills with new experiences. They can also meet others on the trips to help them expand their own network.

Those who support the rally more virtually through the "rally operations" or "rally observer" tiers are also supporting the community and the content I create.

Any revenue generated by merchandise or memberships on this site, is intended to go back to "support the rally". The only point of it is to help us "expand rally operations" & create more content so more people can experience what I experienced.

My intention is for any profit from these proceeds, to be used to support 4wdabc or men's mental health projects, in hopes to help others overcoming feelings of isolation.

FAQ

What kind of "rally" is this?

I know what you are thinking and you're right, this isn't a traditional Dakar style rally. It doesn't happen once a year and it isn't a race. It happens almost every weekend & is always available through the content I create. Think of this as an evolution on the concept of rally (to make it more accessible to everyone) & sprinkle in a social community that enhances this experience. This is not intended to be for the most hardcore adventurers or rock crawlers (although some of the trips are pretty intense!). I'm trying to build a community of people who enjoy the content & have shared interests. This means adapting the concept to be inclusive to anyone, even if they only join by experiencing the content.

What's with the member fees?

This is simply a way to support the content and community goals. These perks get you access to exclusive content on this site, swag giveaways, and an elevated access role in our discord community where other members plan or join trips that are organized within the community. More importantly membership is a way for you to support the channel, the content and the community, if you enjoy it and want to see it grow. My intention with these fees is not to personally profit. I use the fees to keep the site running, pay for the discord, give away free merch and organize trips for members through the year. Any surplus or profit from this is intended to be donated to charity.

How do I get a refund?

Unfortunately I do not control the platform that hosts this community, which is called Fourthwall.
